White Christmas

[Intro]
The sun is shining, the grass is green
The orange and palm trees sway
There's never been such a day
In Beverly Hills, L.A
But it's December the twenty-fourth
And I am longing to be up North

[verse]
I'm dreaming of a White Christmas
Just like the ones I used to know
Where the treetops glisten
and children listen
To hear sleigh bells in the snow.

I'm dreaming of a white Christmas
With every Christmas card I write
May your days be merry and bright
And may all your Christmases be white.

The film "White Christmas" starring Bing Crosby (and performing this song) was released by Paramount Pictures in 1954. Crosby chose to omit the into since the film was placed in Vermont. The melody of "White Christmas" came to Irving Berlin on the set of the musical film "Top Hat" in 1935.
